The Future
At the beginning of 2008 the running of Project Recruit was formerly handed over to Double Impact, this was to facilitate the continued growth and expansion of Project Recruit.
A more education based programme was introduced for placementee's during the first six months of their involvement with Project Recruit which included courses in study skills, literacy and numeracy, drug and alcohol awareness courses, IT skills, frontline working, first aid, help in completing application forms, letter writing and completing CV's and an introduction to counselling course. I am pleased and proud to annouce ten students successfully completed and achieved all of the above courses many of which were accredited. And more importantly their achievements were also recognised at the 'Adult Learners Celebration Event 2008' hosted by Nottinghamshire College were Project Recruit won two awards.
Three of the placementee's have now moved into paid work placements and the rest will be undertaking voluntary work.
