Training

As a result of the success of the DAAT training and the Let's Build Community Programme we have now merged our training provision to become 'Let's Build...Training', a merger we feel will only help to enhance an already successful service.

Given the prevalence of substance misuse in the UK the importance of training around substance misuse issues cannot be underestimated. The Nottinghamshire County DAAT aims to provide quality substance misuse training to facilitate learning, improve the practice of individuals & influence their service delivery so as to work to reduce drug related harm.

Our training supports the Drug and Alcohol Occupational Standards. These standards can help you decide if a course matches you individual learning needs and also your organisation’s requirements.

Training is delivered by a knowledgeable and enthusiastic training team and supported by experienced practitioners working in the field.

We believe that training should be both informative and enjoyable. Delegates will be encouraged to participate and share information with each other to expand their knowledge of drug related issues in a safe and non threatening environment. A variety of teaching strategies are always used, including group discussion and presentation, quizzes visual aids and guest speakers.

We have not forgotten about ensuring our training is accessible to community and voluntary groups and offer an accredited training course specifically to support this.

Furthermore most of the training we offer is free to individuals, but applicants should remember that if they are accepted to attend a training course and are unable to attend 5-days notification must be given, or a charge of £20 pounds will be made against the individual in question.
