Training Course Details - Crack Cocaine & Other Stimulants
Course Overview:
This course has been designed to develop participant’s knowledge and understanding of crack cocaine and other stimulants.
The course will explore practical strategies and approaches to help stimulant users.

Course Aims - Participants will:
 Gain knowledge about different stimulants
 Improve their knowledge of crack cocaine, its properties, use, physiological effects
and social impact
 Identify barriers to engaging with stimulant users and how these might be addressed
 Explore a range of practical tools and interventions to engage with stimulant users

This course supports the knowledge and understanding of the following DANOS units.
AB1 Support individuals when they are distressed
AB2 Support individuals who are substance users
AC1 Develop your own knowledge and practice
AD1 Raise awareness about substances, their use and effects
AI1 Counsel individuals about their substance use using recognised theoretical models
