Training Course Details - Drugs & Housing
Course Overview:
It is recommended that individuals have undertaken Basic Drug Awareness
Training prior to undertaking this course.
This course explores some of the issues drug users face in vulnerable housing settings.
It will allow participants to explore attitudes and perceptions to this client group, develop
an understanding of legal issues

Course Aims - Participants will:
 Gain an understanding of the importance of empathic working skills with this client
group
 Understand the importance of legislation which applies to drug issues in residential
settings
 Develop assessment and intervention skills appropriate to client needs

This course supports the knowledge and understanding of the following DANOS units.
AI1 Counsel individuals about their substance use using recognised theoretical models
AK3 Enable individuals to access housing and accommodation
